Alaska Native Veteran Allotment Program

Vietnam Veterans who served between August 5, 1964, and December 31, 1971, and do not have a pending application or have not already received an allotment under the Alaska Native Allotment Act, the Alaska Native Veteran Allotment Act of 1998, or a Permanent Place of Residence under
the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act are eligible for the Alaska Native Veteran Allotment Program of 2019. The program will permit the personal representative of a deceased individual to select a parcel of land containing not less than 2.5 acres and not more than 160 acres.

The Bureau of Land Management will be in Kotzebue on Thursday, April 11, and Friday, April 12, 2024 to assist any and all Vietnam Veterans to apply for this program. They will help select their lands. An Alaska Legal Service representative will be there to assist the next of kin of the deceased Vietnam Veteran applying for the personal representative portion. We will have Certificate of Indian Blood applications on hand if any of the applicants need to obtain a CIB card.

The meeting will be held at the Maniilaq Association Ferguson Building conference room at 733 2nd Avenue from 9:00am to 3:00pm. If you have any questions, feel free to call Ella Lisbourne, Maniilaq Association Realty Officer, at 907-442-7623. See the event page on our calendar here.
