Maniilaq Association offers its deepest condolences to the community of Noorvik, with heavy hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends affected by the tragedy Wednesday morning. We would like to express great respect and appreciation for local efforts to respond to the situation and offer care and compassion to those affected during such a difficult time.

Immediate Services

Behavioral Health Services has staff available at the Sally Harvey Memorial Clinic in Noorvik to receive anyone who might need support. Please call 907-442-7640 Monday through Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM, and the front desk will be able to do intakes over the phone. BHS is also providing staff at the Noorvik clinic all weekend for anyone wanting to meet in person to complete an intake for services or immediate in-person counseling.

Community Circle

The Maniilaq Behavioral Health Services team is holding a community circle on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 6:00-8:00pm. Alexiss Santoni and Tracy Hatch will be hosting this gathering at the Sally Harvey Memorial Clinic in Noorvik. Food and drinks will be provided. Grief Counseling

Maniilaq Association Behavioral Health provides ”Walk-in” Individual Grief Counseling every Monday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm for residents of the Maniilaq Service Area experiencing a loss or life transition.

Call Ashley Nies at 907.442.7645 and she will connect you to therapist Mary Zielie via phone, “Zoom” video conferencing, or in person. You can also call in or Zoom from your local clinic.

Anyone residing in the Maniilaq Service Area can call in to use these services. You don’t need to be an IHS beneficiary or current BHS client, just an MSA resident. Calling into this grief counseling service does not initiate a BHS intake, no appointment or paperwork is needed, and complete confidentiality can be expected during and after every session.
