Family Crisis Center Manager gives public testimony on House Bill 234

House Community & Regional Affairs Committee Meeting, February 27, 2024

“We are hopeful that this will start the healing for those families who have been long waiting. This change can possibly strengthen our communities’ relationship with law enforcement coming in and we understand that there is a lot more that goes into strengthening a relationship, but this is a start.”

Last Tuesday, our Family Crisis Center Manager, Shylena Lie, publically testified in front of the House Community and Regional Affairs Committee on House Bill 234: “An Act relating to police officer training; establishing the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons Review Commission; relating to missing and murdered indigenous persons; relating to the duties of the Department of Public Safety; and providing for an effective date.”
