I have the wonderful privilege of working most of my medical career for Maniilaq Health Center, first in Kotzebue, then Ambler, and now for KuuvaNmiut Telemedicine Clinic from my office cabin in rural Fairbanks. I serve the people of Kiana, Ambler, Shungnak, and Kobuk, either via daily VTC (video-telemedicine conference) visits, or in person at each of the four village clinics in fall and spring. My passion is to connect people in these remote communities with continuous quality primary and specialty medical care, and to empower people toward their personal health advocacy.
I enjoy my huge garden in summer, and planning for it in the winter; cross-country skiing, hiking, yoga; knitting with Icelandic wool; tending to our sheep, chickens, and dogs; baking & cooking for family & friends; musical jams and potlucks; hanging out with husband, adult kids and grandkids.
