Business Administration Departments

The business departments ensure accuracy and accountability with hospital and medical records, and quality assurance. Full staff manage the human resources, finance, technology, housing and planning departments

Extended Facilities

The Extended Facilities Department works to ensure safe and efficient maintenance to all Maniilaq Extended Facilities, which include: Administrative and Social Service buildings, medical and tribal housing, village clinics, and vehicles throughout the NANA Region and Point Hope.


The Finance Department handles the financial affairs of Maniilaq Association. It includes two separate divisions: Purchasing and Accounting. These programs work together with the Executive Staff to ensure the financial well-being of Maniilaq Association and its employees. All finance functions such as Accounts Payables, Payroll, Cash Receipts, Management, Maintenance & Reporting of the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Grants, Budgets, Investments, Debts and Cash are just parts of the daily operations and maintenance of this Department.


With 84 units available, Employee Housing provides safe, modern housing for personnel essential to the continuity of Maniilaq's health care delivery system. Temporary housing is provided to short-term employees and other temporary contracted workers using studio apartments designed for short-term occupancy. Human Resources

Human Resources is responsible for all employee relations within Maniilaq Association, including staff development, employee recognition and appreciation programs, employee benefits, recruitment, and employee orientation. In addition, HR handles the interview and hiring process for prospective employees. Information Technology (IT)

Information Technology manages and maintains all telephone, FAX, computer systems, software, and hardware throughout the Maniilaq Association infrastructure. IT also manages the computer systems of the Traditional Council Offices throughout the Northwest Arctic Borough, as well as the corporate offices of the Northwest Iņupiat Housing Authority, Northwest Arctic Borough, and the NANA Regional Corporation offices in Kotzebue.

   Additionally, IT installs and maintains private wireless Internet connections in ten communities for, a joint service venture between Maniilaq Association, OTZ Telephone Co-op., and General Communications Inc. Planning & Development

Department Mission: To provide technical, writing, and general assistance to Maniilaq Association and regional partners with projects ranging from grant proposals, funding request, applications & forms, renewals, documents, data research, MOA/MOU, letters of support, formatting, printing & publication, writing, power point and other presentations. Additionally, department will maintain tracking of Board Instrument Panel data and provide technical assistance with Strategic Planning.
